Our Story
In 2004, my wife was just a few months into her first job as a dentist, an associate at a practice outside Philadelphia. One evening, she came home and told me their server had crashed. When they tried to restore the backup, they discovered it had failed months earlier.
Six months of patient records, billing, and X-rays. Gone forever.
The doctor who owned the practice broke down. In that moment, it wasn’t just a technology failure, it was a threat to everything she had worked to build.
That was the moment SK Tech Group began.
I knew this community would be ours for life. I had a passion for technology, but more importantly, a deep respect for the people building careers and businesses in dentistry. Creating a company to protect them didn’t feel like a business opportunity, it felt like a responsibility.
My father-in-law and I started the company together: Sciandra and Kiefer. Soon after, my brother-in-law, Sal, joined us, strengthening both the team and the mission behind the “S” in SK.
What set us apart from the beginning was simple. We didn’t just support dental practices; we created peace of mind so doctors could focus on what matters most: patient care.
I was there before dental school, through dental school, and through residency. I watched my wife return to specialize in orthodontics and eventually open her own practice outside Allentown. I saw firsthand the financial pressure, the staffing challenges, and the constant balancing act between patient care and running a business.
And we weren’t alone. Our friends, neighbors, and clients were going through the same thing. That perspective shaped everything.
We didn’t build a general IT company that happened to support dental offices. We built a company entirely focused on dentistry. Designed from the ground up to understand the systems, workflows, and risks unique to this profession.
From day one, we committed to building a team that shared that mindset. Today, that team has grown to more than 30 professionals who share this mission and support over 400 practices across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware. Every member of SK Tech Group is trained specifically in dental technology, from practice management software to imaging systems to cybersecurity threats that can shut a practice down overnight.
But what matters most isn’t the number. It’s trust.
Our clients rely on us to protect their businesses, their patients, and their livelihoods. That’s not something we take lightly.
We built SK Tech Group so dentists could stop worrying about technology and get back to focusing on their patients, their teams, and their growth.
That mission hasn’t changed. And it never will.
