Why SK Tech Group Was Built for Dental Practices
In 2004, everything changed with one conversation.
My wife had just started her career as a dentist, working as an associate at a practice outside Philadelphia. One evening, she came home and told me their server had crashed. When they tried to restore the backup, they discovered something even worse — it hadn’t been working for months.
Six months of patient records, billing information, and X-rays… gone.
The doctor who owned the practice broke down. And in that moment, it became clear: this wasn’t just a technology issue — it was a threat to everything she had built.
That was the moment SK Tech Group began.
Built From Experience, Not Theory
This wasn’t about spotting a business opportunity. It was personal.
I had a passion for technology, but more importantly, I had a deep respect for the people building careers and practices in dentistry. I had seen firsthand what it takes — the long hours, the pressure, the responsibility.
I was there before dental school, through dental school, and into residency. I watched my wife specialize in orthodontics and eventually open her own practice. I saw the financial challenges, the staffing hurdles, and the constant balancing act between patient care and running a business.
And we weren’t alone — our friends, neighbors, and colleagues in dentistry were facing the same realities.
That perspective shaped everything we built.
A Different Kind of IT Company
From the beginning, we knew one thing:
We weren’t going to be a general IT company that happened to support dental offices.
We built SK Tech Group specifically for dentistry — designed around the systems, workflows, and risks unique to your practice.
Because when something goes wrong in a dental office, it’s not just inconvenient — it can stop everything.
That’s why our focus has always been simple:
Give dentists peace of mind so they can focus on their patients.
Growing With Purpose
What started as a family-founded company — built alongside my father-in-law and later joined by my brother-in-law — has grown into a team of more than 30 professionals supporting over 400 practices across Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware.
Every member of our team is trained specifically in dental technology — from practice management software and imaging systems to cybersecurity and data protection.
But growth has never been the goal.
Trust is.
Why It Still Matters Today
Dental practices rely on their technology more than ever. And when it fails, the impact is immediate — on your patients, your team, and your business.
That’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.
We built SK Tech Group so dentists could stop worrying about technology and get back to focusing on what matters most — their patients, their team, and their growth.
That mission hasn’t changed.
And it never will.
